Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet Received Over 200 Military Hardware Items in 2015
 
Russia’s Black Sea Fleet received more than 200 items of advanced military hardware in 2015, Fleet Commander Admiral Alexander Vitko said on Friday.
     
Last year, the Black Sea Fleet received two Project 21631 Buyan-M-class small missile ships, ten combat boats, 20 auxiliary vessels and boats and more than 30 aircraft, including modern Sukhoi Su-30SM (NATO reporting name: Flanker-C) multipurpose fighter jets and unmanned aerial vehicles, Vitko said. "In 2015, the Black Sea Fleet received more than 200 items of advanced military hardware, about 40 various ships and vessels, including three new-generation diesel-electric submarines. Two of the three diesel-electric submarines, the Novorossiysk and the Rostov-on-Don, have already arrived at their permanent bases," the commander said.

Last year, the Black Sea Fleet received two Project 21631 Buyan-M-class small missile ships, ten combat boats, 20 auxiliary vessels and boats and more than 30 aircraft, including modern Sukhoi Su-30SM (NATO reporting name: Flanker-C) multipurpose fighter jets and unmanned aerial vehicles, Vitko said.
     
Two advanced Project 11356 frigates Admiral Grigorovich and Admiral Essen armed with the Kalibr (SS-N-27 Sizzler) missile system and a new air defense missile system will arrive in Sevastopol in Crimea in 2016. "As many as 140 advanced armored vehicles arrived for coastal defense forces," the commander added.
According to Vitko, all the new surface ships and submarines have been manned with contract servicemen.
As the commander said, 2,400 contract servicemen joined the Black Sea Fleet in 2015, which is 10% more than in 2014. Another 600 contract servicemen are expected to join the Black Sea Fleet in the imminent future.
The Black Sea Fleet will receive new vessels in 2016 as well, the commander said.

The crew of the third Project 11356 frigate Admiral Makarov has already been formed and is currently undergoing training.

"Two advanced diesel-electric submarines Stary Oskol and Krasnodar are expected to join the Black Sea Fleet. The submarines are equipped with the Kalibr missile system as well," the admiral said.
According to him, the Black Sea Fleet will receive special support vessels as well.
