Kalashnikov Group (a subsidiary of the Rostec state corporation) is going to start the deliveries of BK-10 and BK-16 fast craft to Russia`s Ministry of Defense (MoD), according to the company`s press department.
BK-16 is a high-speed, multi-purpose amphibious landing craft developed by Russian firearms manufacturer Kalashnikov Concern, for the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.

"In 2015, both craft successfully passed the trials, and the MoD brought them in service. Their specifications do not fall short of Western craft. At the same time, BK-10 and BK-16 feature lower price compared to their counterparts," the Kalashnikov`s CEO, Alexey Krivoruchko said.

The company has developed the joint craft group that includes BK-10 and BK-16 on its own initiative. BK-16 has an operational range of 400 km, a maximum speed of 42 kt, a crew of two servicemen and a passenger capacity of 19 soldiers. BK-10 has a maximum speed of 40 kt and a passenger capacity of 10 soldiers. Both craft can be equipped with 7.62 mm machinegun, 12.7 mm heavy machinegun or 30 mm/40 mm automatic grenade launchers.
