A poster on display at the Norinco stand gives the following information:
Being part of the warship close-in defense weapon system, the CS/AR1 55mm Anti-Frogman Rocket Launcher can use single-fire, group-fire or salvo-fire to annihilate underwater close-in small moving targets like frogmen during ship berthing/mooring time. The anti-frogman rocket launcher mainly consists of rocket launcher, launch control device and anti-frogman high-explosive round, etc.
The system adopts modular design, which makes the launcher occupy small area on ship and have wide capability. Rapid assembly technique is adopted fir subassemblies to make easier assembly and disassembly. The system adopts digital control technique to realize fast reaction speed and high accuracy. The rocket launcher also adopts fault self-diagnosis design for higher system intelligence and better maintainability.

The CS/AR1 bears a close ressemblance with the Russian made DP-65 antisaboteur grenade launchers. Both systems have the same number of tubes, in the same arrangement and both systems have the same purpose. The two systems are so similar that Norinco's CS/AR1 could well be produced under license.
