Third Lockheed Martin-Built MUOS Secure Communications Satellite Launched
 
The third Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) satellite built by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Navy is now responding to commands after being launched here today. An initialization team, led by the company, is operating the MUOS-3 satellite from the Naval Satellite Operations Center located at the Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, California.

Successful RBS15 Mk3 Sea Acceptance Test for Polish Navy Orkan Fast Attack Craft
 
Defence and security company Saab and the Polish Navy have conducted a successful commissioning and sea acceptance test of the RBS15 Mk3 onboard the Orkan-class fast attack craft. The tests were part of Saab’s 2006 contract with Poland for the delivery of RBS15 Mk3 missiles, and their installation on the Orkan-class ships.
Defence and security company Saab and the Polish Navy have conducted a successful commissioning and sea acceptance test of the RBS15 Mk3 onboard the Orkan-class fast attack craft. The tests were part of Saab’s 2006 contract with Poland for the delivery of RBS15 Mk3 missiles, and their installation on the Orkan-class ships.

French Shipyard OCEA Launched the OSV 190 Offshore Survey Vessel for Indonesian Navy
 
In December 2014, OCEA, based in Les Sables d'Olonne on the Western coast of France, launched the first of two "OSV 190 SC-WB" Offshore Survey Vessels ordered by Indonesia for the navy (TNI-AL). OCEA won the contract among 9 bidders (3 from South Korea, 1 from Germany, 4 from France including OCEA and 1 from the Netherlands) following an international tender launched in 2011.

Swedish defence and security company Saab is teaming with Dutch shipbuilder Damen Shipyards Group to explore future opportunities in the international submarine market. The companies have signed an exclusive teaming agreement to work together in pursuit of the potential Walrus-class submarine replacement programme for the Netherlands. In addition to this project, Saab and Damen will also explore ways in which they might bid jointly on other submarine procurement programmes.
The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems a five-year contract to provide critical system engineering, integration, and testing expertise for the Aegis Combat System on board surface ships. The initial award is valued at $23 million with the total value of the five-year contract estimated at $120 million.

Under a process known as type selection, the Japanese government chose the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft and the RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned aircraft system to help maintain the country's sovereignty.

The U.S. Navy announced that the guided-missile cruiser USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) will join the Forward Deployed Naval Forces in Yokosuka, Japan. As part of the U.S. Navy's long-range plan to send the most advanced and capable units to the Asia-Pacific, Chancellorsville will leave her homeport of San Diego and deploy to Yokosuka in the summer of 2015.

The objective was to confirm the discrimination and intercept ability of the Aster 30 missile when faced with two very interlinked radar tracks.

The SHARCs is based on Liquid Robotics' Wave Glider SV3, a unique wave and solar propelled 2 parts system (one on the surface, the other under water).
