HGH Infrared Systems at Sea-Air-Space 2014 with its new Spynel panoramic surveillance system

HGH's Infrared Systems', based in Cambridge MA, will be attending Sea Air Space 2014 for its annual exhibition in National Harbor, MD next week. HGH’s award-winning Spynel thermal imaging system for security and surveillance provides automated intrusion detection and tracking over 360 degrees, detecting a small boat at up to 12 km and a ship up to 25 km (depending on model).

Its fast frame rate and unique panoramic capabilities ensure powerful Wide Area Surveillance through visual real-time night and day and all-weather conditions.

The Spynel systems can successfully operate at sea state level 5/6 (rough to very rough seas) thanks to an autonomous gyro-stabilized platform. In addition to mechanical stabilization, the Spynel comes with a sea-specific image processing stabilization algorithm. This built-in image processing allows for minimal false alarm rate and effective differentiation between distant small boats and waves. Using complex algorithms developed over 10 years, the ultra-wide, panoramic IR sensor automatically detects and tracks targets-making sure no event goes unnoticed.

The Spynel provides high resolution, 30 Megapixel images in complete darkness and adverse weather conditions. This innovative technology operates as an optical radar coupled with powerful analytics. Forensics capabilities allow the operator to replay and analyze an incident after the fact to identify threats while Spynel's compact, rugged and lightweight design make for an easy and quick deployment.
