Russia’s Tactical Missiles Corporation Showcasing Kh-59MK Anti-Ship Missile at MAKS 2017

Two export guided missiles, being among advanced products from JSC Raduga State Engineering Design Bureau named after A. Ya. Bereznyak, Dubna, near Moscow, are on display in Tactical Missiles Corporation’s pavilion at MAKS-2017 Air Show. Russia’s leading developer and exporter of anti-ship and anti-radar missiles, which are in service with 20 countries around the world, is showcasing its Kh-59MK and Kh-58UShKE missiles in Zhukovsky, Moscow Region.

The Kh-59MK longer-range air-to-surface missile is an advanced version of the Kh-59 tactical fire-and-forget cruise missiles and is intended for high-accuracy engagement of a wide range of surface radar-contrast targets with radar cross section of more than 300 square meters (from boat to cruiser). The missile is fitted with a heavy penetrating warhead of 320 kg, capable of disabling even such large targets as cruisers, destroyers, ocean transports.

The Kh-58UShKE anti-radar missile (ARM) with a wide-range passive radar seeker is an advanced version of the Kh-58E ARM and is intended for long-range and high-accuracy destruction of ground-based radars. Thanks to its small dimensions, the missile can be placed both externally (on hardpoints) and internally on future multipurpose aircraft.

At present, Raduga has modified the Kh-58UShKE ARM by equipping it with a thermal imaging channel (TP). Retrofitting the Kh-58UShKE’s control system with a thermal imaging channel enhances the combat potential of front-line aircraft by increasing the probability of destroying radio-emitting targets that use pause mode and turn off radiation during the terminal phase of the ARM trajectory.

Kh-59MK2 air-to-surface missile is a modification of Kh-59MK intended for destruction of static targets at distances up to 285 km. It can be equipped with either penetrating (320 kg) or pellet (285 kg) warhead.
