Future Indian Navy and French Navy Aircraft Carriers Likely to be Fitted with EMALS & AAG
During the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space 2017 exposition held recently near Washington D.C., General Atomics was showcasing its Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) for aircraft carriers. Navy Recognition learned during the show that General Atomics received export aproval for EMALS and AAG to the Indian Navy. The Brazilian Navy, French Navy and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force have also shown interest in those technologies according the the company.

During the Navy League's Sea-Air-Space 2017 exposition held recently near Washington D.C., AeroVironment was showcasing its newly introduced Multi-Pack Launcher (MPL). MPL is used to launch up to six Blackwing or Switchblade UAVs from land or from surface vessels.

During the Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space 2017 exposition held last week near Washington D.C., Maritime Tactical Systems (MARTAC) from Melbourne, FL. and their partner Booz Allen Hamilton were showcasing their MANTAS MAN-portable Tactical Autonomous Systems. MANTAS is a range of unmanned surface vehicules (USV) scalable from 2.5' to 50' in length capable of extremely high speeds and long endurance missions.

An estimated 11,500 visitors participated in three days of seminars and demonstrations by more than 290 exhibiting companies and organizations during the 2017 Sea-Air-Space Exposition, which came to a close April 5. Held at the Gaylord National Harbor Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland, the U.S. Navy League-sponsored exposition highlighted the latest maritime-related technologies and solutions in the largest maritime exposition in the U.S.

Textron Systems Unmanned Systems announced today that it has received a $14.8 million contract to provide two additional fourth-generation CUSV™ vehicles for the U.S. Navy’s Unmanned Influence Sweep System (UISS) program. The U.S. Navy intends to use these two CUSV systems as part of their comprehensive Mine Counter Measure Unmanned Surface Vehicle (MCM USV) mission, which includes mine-hunting and potentially mine-neutralization, as well as mine-sweeping.

SAS 2017: Austal Unveils Updated LCS Frigate Design with 16x Anti-Ship Missiles
 
At the Navy League’s Sea-Air-Space 2017 exposition currently held near Washington D.C., Austal USA rolled out an updated LCS Frigate design called the "Austal Frigate". The main modifications consist in a slightly shortened flight deck in order to fit anti-ship missile launchers and a variable depth sonar in order to add capabilities to the ship's aft.
