The
Royal Norwegian Navy (RNoN) is the maritime force
of the Norwegian Defence Force.
The RNoN is organized into the Fleet, the Coast
Guard, and the Naval Schools.
The Fleet consists of:
- Fleet Chief Staff
- Frigate Branch (Fregattvåpenet)
- Coastal Warfare Branch (MTB-våpenet)
- Submarine Branch (Ubåtvåpenet)
- Mine Branch (Minevåpenet)
- Norwegian Special Warfare Group (Marinens jegervåpen)
- Logistics Branch (Logistikkvåpenet).
The Royal Norwegian Navy (+coast guards) operates
about 70 combat vessels including 5 frigates and
6 submarines. It is composed of approximately 3,700
sailors (4,500 on mobilisation).
