DCNS & SEC Industries achieve milestone under the Indian Scorpene submarines programme
 
SEC Industries and DCNS today officially inaugurated new workshop facilities and delivered, after successful Factory Acceptance Tests, the cofferdam doors coamings for the Indian P75* Scorpene submarines. The facilities were inaugurated by Shri M.M. Pallam Raju, the Indian Honbl’e Minister of State for Defence, Government of India. French Ambassador to India, H.E. Mr. François Richier was present at the occasion along with other Indian senior dignitaries and officials.

Atlas Elektronik to provide Cerberus portable diver detection sonar for the German Navy F125 frigate
 
ATLAS ELEKTRONIK will deliver portable Diver Detection Sonars for installation on the latest frigate of the German Navy, Type F125. ATLAS, a leading supplier of naval electronic systems, has been awarded a contract by the German Federal Office of Defence Technology and Procurement (BWB) for the supply of four Cerberus Mod2 portable Diver Detection Sonar (DDS) systems for the four F125 frigates and a fifth system for training purposes. The first system delivery is scheduled for 2012.

Abu Dhabi Ship Building, the leading shipbuilder and naval support services provider in the Gulf region, has today launched its first Ghannatha Missile Boat at its Mussafah shipyard facilities. The Ghannatha Phase II program was awarded to ADSB in 2009. ADSB was commissioned to construct 12 new Missile Boats and retrofit the existing ADSB-built Ghannatha Phase I troop carriers into gun boats and mortar boats.

Indian Navy Boeing P-8I maritime patrol aircraft Begins Flight Test Program
 
Boeing's first P-8I aircraft for the Indian Navy began its official flight test program July 7, taking off from Boeing Field in Seattle at 9:15 a.m. and landing three hours and 49 minutes later after demonstrating flying qualities and handling characteristics. The flight went as planned with all test objectives met.

Airbus Military C295 MPA carries MBDA MARTE MK2/S Anti-ship Missile for first time
 
Airbus Military and MBDA have successfully completed the first flight of the C295 maritime patrol aircraft with an instrumented Marte MK2/S anti-ship inert missile installed under the wing. The flight was the first of a series of trials planned in a joint Airbus Military – MBDA collaboration to validate the aerodynamic integration of Marte on the C295. Subsequent flights will include handling qualities testsand aircraft flight performance tests.

Sikorsky Signs Five-Year Contract To Build H-60 Helicopters For U.S. Army and Navy
 
The U.S. Army and Navy signed July 9th 2019 an $8.5 billion contract with Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., to buy a baseline quantity of 653 BLACK HAWK and SEAHAWK® helicopters through December 2017. The five-year contract will yield significant savings for the U.S. Government compared with purchasing the same quantity across five separate annual agreements.

The Navy awarded on July 6 2012 a $212,722,820 fixed-priced incentive-fee contract for the detail design and construction of a Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) test and training craft to Textron, Inc., New Orleans, La. The contract also includes options for up to eight additional craft which, if exercised, brings the cumulative value of this contract to $570,451,044. The award was based on full and open competition.

Called WiPAK®, the avionics kit enables integration of Paveway on a variety of aircraft without any modifications to aircraft wiring or changes to the flight and stores management software.

Minister for Defence Materiel Jason Clare announced the arrival in Adelaide of the first two state of the art ‘SPY’ radar array faces that will be installed on the Air Warfare Destroyers (AWDs). “The multi-function SPY radar is capable of search, automatic detection, tracking of air and surface targets and missile engagement support,” Mr Clare said.

DCNS has made the ship available to the French Navy for three years. The client Navies, in turn, is using the ship primarily for government missions at sea. During this fisheries protection and maritime safety & security mission, the L’Adroit demonstrated the quality of DCNS’s design and technological innovations.

The Ship’s launching lady, Mrs. Maureen Banks, as well as the Chief of the Royal Australian Navy, Vice Admiral Ray Griggs, together with representatives of the Commonwealth of Australia, BAE Systems, SEPI and Navantia have attended the event.

First external weapons test flight for the F-35C, US Navy's carrier variant of the Joint Strike Fighter
 
The carrier variant of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter flew for the first time with external weapons June 27. Navy test pilot Lt. Christopher Tabert flew CF-1 with inert AIM-9X Sidewinder air-to-air missiles on port and starboard pylons to measure flying qualities and aircraft vibrations.
