Euronaval 2010 naval defence & maritime show proved an unqualified success. Already an international benchmark in its field, Euronaval's economic, political and strategic impact make it a "must-attend" event. Well-established as the premier biennal gathering for naval defence and maritime security communities, Euronaval is now more international and covers the defence and civil sectors more completety than ever. It also continues to get bigger and better with each edition. Euronaval 2010 attracted more exhibitors from more countries. This year's 405 exhibitors, up 8% on 2008, came from 37 countries. Germany, Israel, Italy, Russia and the United States were all better represented than at earlier shows. Total attendance was also significantly higher, with 34.000 visitors from 107 countries. The risk of transportation difficulties due to strikes and social unrest deterred few, if any. Euronaval 2010, welcomed no fewer than 76 official delegations from 52 countries representing close to 300 guests of honour, including government ministers, secretaries of state, chiefs of staff and national armaments directors. Navy chiefs of staff attended from Brazil, Chile, Iraq, Kuwait, Lybia, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Delegations from coast guard authorities and ministries of the interior were also welcomed from Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
