PACIFIC 2015: DCNS Showcased the Shortfin Barracuda Block 1A for SEA1000 Submarine Program
 
At PACIFIC 2015, the international maritime exposition held recently in Sydney, DCNS was showcasing for the first time a scale model of its proposal for the Australian SEA1000 submarine design and procurement program. Based on the French Navy Barracuda SSN currently in final stage of construction, the Shorfin Barracuda is 3 meters shorter (94 meters) and 200 tons lighter (4,500 tons).

At PACIFIC 2015, the international maritime exposition held recently in Sydney, most shipyards or shipbuilding groups attending the event unveiled the design of their proposal for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) SEA5000 program. SEA5000 calls for the replacement of the RAN ANZAC class frigates. The Future Frigate is expected to have anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities and the CEAFAR2 radar currently in development by CEA.

BAE Systems ready to start sustaining Australia's NUSHIP Adelaide LHD
 
Lessons learned from supporting Australia’s largest warship, HMAS Canberra, will benefit the Royal Australian Navy when its sister ship enters service later this year, according to prime contractor BAE Systems. The company has just completed the first 12 months of a four-year, $220 million program with responsibility for sustaining the new, first-of-class Landing Helicopter Dock.

DSME (Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering), celebrates its partnership with BAE Systems Australia Limited, BMT Defence Services Ltd, L-3 Communications and SAAB with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony at the Pacific 2015 International Maritime Exposition in Sydney. The signing took place on Tuesday 6th October at the DSME stand.

The conceptual images are representative of DCNS proposal for the SEA5000 program which calls for the replacement of 9 Anzac class frigates.

Sustainment teams on both sides of Australia are upgrading ANZAC class frigates HMAS Perth and HMAS Anzac to significantly increase their capability. Across each warship, BAE Systems Australia is delivering more than 15 complex engineering changes including enclosing the quarter deck, modifications to accommodate the MH-60 Romeo naval helicopters, relocation of the on-board gymnasium and radar cross section remediation works.

PACIFIC 2015: Team Seahawk Continues MH-60R Helicopter Deliveries to RAN Ahead of Schedule
 
Fourteen MH-60R “Romeo” multi-role helicopters have been delivered ahead of schedule to the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), which will receive a total of 24 aircraft by 2016. As a result of the seamless teamwork across industry, government and both the U.S. Navy and RAN, the MH-60R program won the “Project of the Year” award from the ACT Chapter of the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM). The award serves to recognise, honour and promote outstanding achievements in program and project management.
