New Images Of UK’s Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers Released
 
The Aircraft Carrier Alliance has today released new computer generated images showing in detail what the two ships will look like when fully operational. The new pictures have been developed by designers at the Aircraft Carrier Alliance and show the Queen Elizabeth Class ships – HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales - as they will look when in-service, complete with helicopters and the F-35B Joint Strike Fighter.

“Vikramaditya” Aircraft Carrier to be Delivered to Indian Navy in November
 
A Russian-built aircraft carrier is to be handed over to the Indian Navy on November 15, and will reach India by February 2014, a senior official at the Russian arms exports monopoly said Wednesday. The Vikramaditya carrier, which is already years past its original 2008 delivery date, was supposed to have been handed over to India in December 2012, but last year’s sea trials revealed that the vessel's boilers were not fully functional.

The U.S. Navy has conducted four successful test flights of the Trident II D5 Fleet Ballistic Missiles built by Lockheed Martin. The U.S. Navy launched the unarmed missiles Sept. 10 and 12 in the Atlantic Ocean from a submerged Ohio-class submarine home-ported at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia.

Lockheed Martin Receives $18 Million Contract to Transition the LRLAP to Production
 
Lockheed Martin received an $18 million contract from the National Warhead and Energetic Consortium to transition the Long Range Land Attack Projectile (LRLAP) to production. The contract includes developing production line tooling, test equipment and manufacturing process plans for initial production of the advanced projectile. The guidance and control unit will be assembled at Lockheed Martin’s Ocala, Fla., facility. Final assembly of LRLAP will be performed at the company’s Troy, Ala., facility.

Chinese Navy (PLAN) Liaoning Aircraft Carrier Carries Major Tets
 
China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, returned to its homeport Saturday after a three-month voyage, during which it carried out major and crucial tests. HAL has achieved another milestone by handing over the first home-made Hawk Mk -132 aircraft to Indian Navy at a function here today. “We built this aircraft in time and this is the first of the five aircraft to be delivered to the Indian Navy. The remaining four will be delivered soon”, said Dr. R. K. Tyagi, Chairman, HAL. He handed over the related documents to Vice Admiral Pradeep K Chatterjee, AVSM, NM, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff.

It has been decided that several destroyers and other large warships will be modernized to accommodate the system,” said Dmitry Konoplev, managing director of the KBP Instrument Design Bureau.
