Chinese Defense ministry confirms high-sea voyage of Liaoning aircraft carrier
 
A military spokesman confirmed Thursday that China's first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning, is set to conduct a voyage on the high seas. Raytheon Anschütz and Seastema supply IBS to Italian Coast Guard Patrol Vessels

April 22nd at Fincantieri Muggiano (La Spezia) shipyard there was the delivery ceremony of the "Salahah" patrol vessel for the United Arab Emirates Navy. Her sister ship, the “Ghantut”, was delivered last January together with an "Abu Dhabi Class" corvette. The two patrol vessels – whose names come from an area of the Emirates near Abu Dhabi – were ordered in 2010 within the “Falaj 2” program. The contract provides for an option for a further two vessels in addition to technology transfer to a local shipyard for the construction of further sister ships.

New Zealand purchases eight Seasprite SH-2G(I) helicopters from Kaman Aerospace for its Navy
 
Defence Minister Dr Jonathan Coleman says the government has approved the purchase of an upgraded and expanded Seasprite helicopter fleet for the New Zealand Defence Force. A total of eight Seasprites (plus two spare airframes) will be purchased from the United States company Kaman Aerospace in a $242 million dollar deal, which includes a training simulator, missiles, and additional components.

On April 12, 2013 in Feodosiya, representatives of the state-owned defense conglomerate "Ukroboronprom" and Chinese Navy officials signed the certificate of acceptance for the first Zubr (project 1232.2) amphibious hovercraft. On the Ukrainian side the document was signed by Dmitry Peregudov, Ukrspecexport General Director.

Raytheon Company delivered the second Phalanx Block 1B Close-In Weapon System for installation on Australia's newest Air Warfare Destroyer, the Brisbane. A previously awarded direct commercial sale contract calls for a total of three Phalanx mounts to be delivered to the Royal Australian Navy. The first mount was delivered in late 2012 for installation aboard the Hobart. A third system is under construction and will be installed on the Sydney in 2014.

Russian Navy Mistral LHDs to be based in the Far East ports of Vladivostok and Petropavlovsk

Ford is complete following the addition of the ship's upper bow section on April 9 at Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS). The upper bow extends the overall length of the carrier to its full size, which is 1,106 feet—equal to a 75-story building lying on its side.

This flight was the last of a series of trials performed in a joint Airbus Military – MBDA collaboration to validate the aerodynamic integration of Marte on C295, its handling qualities and performance tests.

More than 13,000 personnel from 9 nations take part in Joint Warrior, the largest military exercise of the year, which begins today. 49 ships from various navies as well as 40 aircraft are involved in this exercise which goal is to put NATO’s Response Force Task Group to the test through a series of manoeuvres across the east and west coast of Scotland over the next three weeks.
