Russia To Lay Down Two New Project 20380 Corvettes Instead Of Improved Version Project 20385
 
Two new Steregushchy class corvettes based on the original design, the Project 20380, will be laid down for the Russian Navy at the end of February in St. Petersburg, according to TASS quoting the representative of the Ministry of Defense Igor Dygalo. This comes as a surprise because all future corvettes for the Russian Navy were expected to be Project 20385, an improved version of Project 20380. The reason may be European sanctions.

US Army Tests New Capabilities Between Landing Craft Utility & Military Sealift Command Vessel
 
The U.S. Army established a new proven watercraft capability on White Beach Naval Base, Okinawa, Jan. 20-22, that can improve efficiency and save time in future sea operations. While at port, Soldiers, with the 10th Support Group (Regional) aboard the U.S. Army Landing Craft Utility (Runnymede-class large landing craft ), USAV Port Hudson (LCU 2035), aligned the loading ramp to the stern ramp of the Military Sealift Command prepositioning vessel, USNS Sgt. Matej Kocak (T-AK 3005), to transfer supplies between watercraft.

A&P Group wins major British MoD contract to customise and support new RFA tanker fleet
 
A&P Group, the UK’s largest provider of ship repair, conversion and marine services, has been awarded a multi-million pound Ministry of Defence (MoD) contract to complete the fit-out of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary’s new fleet of four tankers. The new Military Afloat Reach and Sustainability (MARS) tankers will maintain the Royal Navy’s ability to refuel at sea and will provide fuel to warships and task groups. The tankers will support deployed amphibious, land and air forces close to the shore and will have the ability to operate helicopters.

Exelis wins interim redesign contract for US Navy’s AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jammer
 
Exelis has received a U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center contract valued at $15.3 million to perform essential sustainment work on the ALQ-99 tactical jamming system. The ALQ-99 is used on the Navy’s EA-6B Prowler and EA-18G Growler electronic attack aircraft. The technology will also be provided to the Australian government through a Foreign Military Sales program, the first time the ALQ-99 has been made available to an international ally.

PT PAL Indonesia held a "First Steel Cutting Ceremony" of the Strategic Sealift Vessel-1 (SSV) Landing Platform Dock in presence of the Chief of Staff of the Philippine Navy and other authorities. The Philippines Ministry of Defence ordered two SSVs from the Indonesian shipyard. Delivery of this unit is expected on the second quarter of 2016. The second and final delivery is set on 2017.
