Royal Australian Navy's MRH90 Taipan Multi Role Helicopters Proving Indispensable
 
Personnel from HMAS Albatross' 808 Squadron have ably supported the Royal Australian Navy's role in the recent Exercise TALISMAN SABRE, embarked in HMAS Choules. Commanding Officer Choules Commander Chris Aulmann said that the reliable and flexible MRH90 helicopters operated by the Squadron provided essential logistical support, in both a ship-to-ship, and ship-to-shore environment.

US Navy's new Virginia-class USS John Warner to be commissioned on Saturday
 
The Virginia-class nuclear powered attack submarine John Warner (SSN 785) will be commissioned at US Navy's Naval Station Norfolk on August 1st, local medias announced today July 29th. The 12th Virginia-class attack submarine in the fleet is named after John Warner, a five-term Republican senator from Virginia who also served as the 61st Secretary of the Navy from 1972 to 1974. His wife Jeanne is the ship's sponsor.

Pakistan reportedly reached deal with China for the purchase of eight submarines
 
According to local medias, Pakistan and China on Thursday July 24th agreed to a multi-billion dollar deal that would see Beijing provide eight submarines to the Pakistan Navy. The deal is expected to be one of China’s biggest arms sales. Eventough the details on the exact type of submarine to be procured by the Pakistani Navy are still scarce, Navy Recognition strongly believes it will be S20 submarines.

French Navy Took Delivery of Two Rafale M Multi-Role Fighter Aircraft in Latest F3 Standard
 
On April 2 and July 9 respectively, two Rafale M in the latest "F3" standard (the M42 and the M43) were delivered by Dassault Aviation to the French Navy "Base d'aéronautique navale" (Naval Air Station) of Landivisiau in Brittanny. The M42 was assigned to Flottile (Fighter Squadron) 12F while the M43 will soon join Flottile 11F.

SAFE Boats International receives order for two additional Mk VI Patrol Boats from U.S. Navy
 
SAFE Boats International (SBI) has been awarded a contract modification to provide the United States Navy two (2) additional Mk VI Patrol Boats (Mk VI PB). The contract modification exercises the options available on the second Mk VI procurement contract, which was awarded to SAFE Boats in June of 2014. This brings the total number of Mk VI boats to be built by SAFE Boats to 12.

Southern Partnership Station-Joint High Speed Vessel 2015 FLEX phase 2 explored JHSV's ability to support broader maritime C2 capabilities, by supporting the organic deployment of two un-manned aerial systems (UAS), Scan Eagle and RQ-20A (Puma).

Aselsan STOP 25mm Remote Weapon Stations for Pakistan Navy Fleet Tanker Project
 
Turkish defense company Aselsan announced that an agreement regarding the Pakistan Navy Fleet Tanker Project for the need of the Pakistan Navy Forces, has been signed between with Savunma Teknolojileri Mühendislik ve Ticaret A.S. (STM), valuing Euro 4.685.000,-. Within this context, Aselsan will develop, produce and deliver Stabilized Gun System (STOP) and Communication Switch System (MAS) by 2016.

General Dynamics received a $20 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy to continue modernizing the AN/BYG-1 Weapons Control System (WCS) Technology Insertion and Advanced Processing Build software for U. S. Navy and Royal Australian Navy submarines. The AN/BYG-1 software analyzes and tracks submarine and surface-ship contact information, providing tactical, situational awareness for submarine crews including the capability to target and employ torpedoes and missiles.

Lockheed Martin Receives Additional Electronic Warfare Contract to Protect the U.S. Navy’s Fleet
 
The U.S. Navy awarded Lockheed Martin a $154 million contract to upgrade the fleet’s electronic warfare defenses against evolving threats, such as anti-ship missiles. Under this low-rate initial production contract for Block 2 of the Navy’s Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP), Lockheed Martin will provide additional systems to upgrade the AN/SLQ-32 systems on U.S. aircraft carriers, cruisers, destroyers and other warships with key capabilities to determine if the electronic sensors of potential foes are tracking the ship.

On 22 July 2015 the FREMM Tahya Misr of the Egyptian navy left the Brest naval base for its home port in Alexandria, Egypt. The Egyptian navy is now the third navy to operate this exceptional latest-generation warship. With the FREMM developed and built by DCNS, the Egyptian navy has the most modern front-line ship of the 21st century.

Video: Chinese Navy in Large Amphibious Exercise With Zubr class LCAC for the First Time
 
The People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) South Sea Fleet started 10 days of military training in the waters near eastern Hainan Island in the South China Sea. The exercise involves several amphibious assets of the PLAN such as the Type 071 LPD and their Type 726 LCAC, but also Project 12322 Zubr large LCAC. It is the first time the Zubr is shown in operation with the PLAN. Chinese state television CCTV released a video for the occasion.

Huntington Ingalls Industries’ Ingalls Shipbuilding division marked the start of fabrication for the Arleigh Burke-class (DDG 51) guided missile destroyer Delbert D. Black (DDG 119). The start of fabrication signifies that 100 tons of steel have been cut. Delbert Black will be the 4th of 8 planned Flight IIA "technology insertion" ships, which will contain elements of the Flight III ships projected to begin with DDG-124.

Under the command of Capt. Douglas Gordon, the ship finished its first-ever mission by deploying and retrieving unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) from the ship's dry deck shelter (DDS) in an operational environment.

The vessel, designated MEKO A-200 AN Frigate, was launched in early December 2014. Algeria ordered two frigates (with an option for two more) in March 2012. The weapons fit selected by the Algerian Navy is quite powerfull for this type of vessel.
