The upgraded Project 877 B-187 diesel-electric submarine Komsomolsk-on-Amur has completed builders sea trials, the Amur Shipyard’s press office said. "On December 10, the submarine Komsomolsk-on-Amur arrived at the Amur Shipyard’s acceptance base in Bolshoi Kamen [in Russia’s Far East] after its builders sea trials," the press office said.

"The tasks specified in the test program have been accomplished thanks to the professionalism and efficient work of the test team and the submarine’s crew," the press office added.
The Project 877 B-187 diesel-electric submarine Komsomolsk-on-Amur was built by the Amur Shipyard. It joined the Russian Navy in 1991.
The Project 877 B-187 diesel-electric submarine is designed to fight the enemy’s submarines and ships, defend naval bases and coastal and sea facilities and conduct reconnaissance and patrolling activities.
The submarine has a displacement of more than 3,000 tons, a length of 72.6 meters, a submerged speed of 17 knots and a depth of submersion of 300 meters. The submarine’s cruising capacity is 45 days and its crew totals 57. The Project 877 submarine is armed with six 533mm torpedo tubes.
