In
accordance with the contract signed with the Russian Navy, the Vympel
Shipyard is expected to build four Project 21980 anti-sabotage boats,
the press office added. "A Project 21980 Grachonok anti-sabotage boat has been put afloat today. This is the first out of four anti-sabotage boats the Vympel Shipyard has built under the contract signed with the Russian Defense Ministry," shipyard spokeswoman Tatyana Gerasimova said. "The Vympel Shipyard has not built such boats earlier," she added. |

In accordance with the contract, the four boats are expected to be built
before 2017. Two of the boats are planned to be delivered to the customer
in 2016. All the Project 21980 anti-sabotage boats will join Russia’s
Northern Fleet. The Project 21980 Grachonok anti-sabotage boat has a displacement of 138 tons, a length of 31 meters and a maximum speed of 23 knots. Its crew totals 8.
