Two Russian Project 21631 Buyan-M Class Corvettes Deploy to Mediterranean
Sea
The
Russian Black Sea Fleet’s Project 21631 Buyan-M class small missile
ships Serpukhov and Zelyony Dol armed with Kalibr (NATO reporting name:
SS-N-27 Sizzler) cruise missiles will join the Navy’s permanent
grouping in the Mediterranean Sea, fleet spokesman Nikolai Voskresensky
said.

number 602)
"The ships Serpukhov and Zelyony Dol are planned
to join the Russian Navy’s permanent grouping in the distant maritime
zone in the Mediterranean Sea in accordance with the force rotation
plan," the spokesman said.
The ships Serpukhov and Zelyony Dol that left Sevastopol on October
4 are currently passing through the Black Sea straits and will enter
"the Mediterranean Sea" in the evening, Voskresensky said.
In mid-August, the small missile ships Serpukhov and Zelyony Dol took
part in Russia’s anti-terror operation in Syria. They launched
three 3M-14 Kalibr cruise missiles to destroy ground facilities of the
Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization (outlawed in Russia).
