"Kronstadt
Group has required competences and experience of carrying out R&D
works for the Russian Navy. It was involved in the work to design the
promising Leader-class destroyer," the CEO said. "A group of enterprises ready to fulfill this large-scale project is being formed. We are ready to take part in this project and are waiting for the tender," he added. The preliminary design of the promising destroyer has been worked out by the Severnoye Design Bureau. It was reported earlier that the destroyer would have a displacement of 10,000-15,000 tons and be equipped with a nuclear-powered or a gas-turbine propulsion unit. Russia’s Defense Ministry has not yet prepared technical specifications. A decision on the construction time has not been made yet. © Copyright 2016 TASS. All rights reserved.
