"The
acceptance team has accepted 75% of the results produced by the running
trials. Imperfections are being removed during the trials by representatives
of all the subcontractors," the press office said. "Before the end of September, the ship is expected to complete builders sea trials. A decision to allow the ship to start undergoing state trials will be made considering the results of these tests," the press office added. The frigate Admiral Makarov is planned to start undergoing state trials in October, the press office said. As Nikolai Volov, aide to the Yantar Shipyard’s CEO, said, "specialists have started dealing with the Ka-27 [NATO reporting name: Helix] helicopter and come close to the final stage of the trials of the ship’s special equipment and the main propulsion unit." According to Volov, who is responsible for the ship’s trials, "the frigate is showing good operational capabilities and proving the inherent characteristics at this stage of the trials." The Project 11356 frigate Admiral Makarov was laid down at the Yantar Shipyard on February 29, 2012 and floated out on September 2, 2015. The frigate Admiral Makarov is planned to be delivered to the customer before the end of 2016. The lead frigate Admiral Grigorovich joined Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in March 2016. The second Project 11356 frigate Admiral Essen arrived for the Navy in June. © Copyright 2015 TASS. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed. |
