Some Middle East states have shown interest in the sea variant of the Pantsir-ME air defense missile/gun system, Viktor Kladov, director for international cooperation and regional policy of the State Corporation Rostec, told TASS.

"We can see that some countries, including the Middle East States, are showing enormous interest in this product. We are sure that Pantsir-ME, which is an adapted sea version of the famous Pantsir-S1 system, will have great market perspectives. As for today, it would be too early to speak about any agreements. The system was demonstrated just a few days ago," Kladov went on to say.

Pantsir-ME was first demonstrated abroad at the IDEX-2019 International Defense Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi. Earlier, a source from the High Precision Systems ("Vysokotochnye Kompleksy") holding company, an affiliate of Rostec, told TASS that Pantsir-ME could be mounted on any type of ships - from a missile boat with a displacement of 500 tons to an aircraft carrier.
