The C-Dome defense system, created by Rafael and already used by the Israeli MoD, will also be installed on the new SAAR–6 corvettes, extending this system to the Israeli Navy.

The C-Dome naval defense system is based on the Iron Dome and is designed to effectively protect combat vessels against various threats. It could quickly and automatically handle saturation attacks by engaging multiple targets at the same time. It provides navy ships the protection against UAVs, rockets and also cruise missiles.
C-Dome utilizes the ship’s own surveillance radar and does not require a dedicated Fire Control Radar. Weapon System Command and Control is seamlessly integrated with the ship’s combat management system, facilitating system operation.
This defensive system does include a multi-round launcher loaded with vertically-launched canistered interceptors and it will be installed under the ship’s deck.
C-Dome uses the combat-proven Iron Dome interceptor that has already achieved more than 1,200 successful interceptions. These interceptors are said to be maintenance-free, and are stored in a sea-proof canister. Up to 10 interceptors can be loaded into a modular vertical launcher unit and each interceptor is equipped with an active radar, allowing it to ensure a high-precision rate.
