ADiK amphibious ship "C-151 LCT" put into Turkish Navy service
 
Turkey put a fast amphibious military ship into service as a part of the "Landing Craft Tank" ( LCT) project, according to a report on Saturday. The semi-official Anatolia news agency reported that the C-151 was put to sea at the shipyard of Anadolu Tersanesi on March 9.

This is the first of its eight fast amphibious military ships, model C-151, which complies with NATO standards.

"I believe wholeheartedly that these ships will be sold to the world with the reference of the armed forces," Deputy Defense Minister Kemal Yard mci said at the launch ceremony.

He said: "Our next target is to develop new projects, to export national technology to the world."

Landing Craft Tank (LCT) Project consists of the acquisition of 8 ships through local design, construction and integration in order to meet operational requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command.

The design, construction, system integration, performance and timely delivery is the responsibility of Anadolu Deniz Insaat Kizaklari (Anadolu Shipyard or ADIK).

The Ship is a mono-hull type vessel, all steel construction, designed to meet the speed, sea keeping maneuverability and stability requirements of Turkish Naval Forces Command. The expected service life will be 30 years.
