Raytheon's JLENS proves capable of tracking swarming boats
 
Soldiers will soon have a system that enables them to protect sailors and safeguard commercial and military navigation in strategic waterways. In June, a series of tests demonstrated that Raytheon Company's JLENS is capable of detecting and tracking swarming boats from hundreds of miles away.

ATLAS NA SeaFox mine neutralization system demonstrates capabilites during US Navy exercise
 
The SeaFox™ mine neutralization system, delivered by ATLAS North America (ATLAS NA), a subsidiary of the German-based ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH, once again proved its effectiveness in performing unmanned mine countermeasure missions, when participating in Trident Warrior 2012 U.S. Navy Fleet Experiment, July 9-20.

The SeaFox™ mine neutralization system, delivered by ATLAS North America (ATLAS NA), a subsidiary of the German-based ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH, once again proved its effectiveness in performing unmanned mine countermeasure missions, when participating in Trident Warrior 2012 U.S. Navy Fleet Experiment, July 9-20.

 

French Shipyard Piriou registers an order for a new generation 44 meter Maritime Training Ship
 
PIRIOU registers an order for a Maritime Training Ship (MTS) to be operated by navOcéan, a joint company created by PIRIOU and DCI. This 44-meter ship will be delivered in autumn 2013 and will be named «Almak» («desert lynx») after a star of the Andromeda constellation. The vessel will be used by DCI (The group specializes in providing operational training courses based on the know-how of the French Armed Forces) for training foreign naval forces.

Russian company Concern Morinformsystem-Agat conducts test of its Club-K container Missile System
 
Russian Company Concern Morinformsystem-Agat JSC reported it conducted tests with its Club-K Club-K Container Missile System on August 22nd. with missile KH-35UE were conducted. Currently preparations linked with the similar trials of the system with missile 3M-54E and 3M-14E are being carried out.

First Keel Laying for Royal Australian Navy Hobart Class Destroyer
 
September 6, 2012 marked the start of the consolidation phase of the Royal Australian Navy Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD) project with the laying of the first keel at Techport Australia in Adelaide. AWD Alliance CEO Rod Equid said the first keel laying is a significant milestone in the AWD project as it marks the start of the next phase in the delivery of three world-class warships to the Royal Australian Navy.

The Gowind® OPV L'Adroit visits Cape Town from 5 to 9 September 2012 during a long deployment off Africa, providing an opportunity for DCNS to promote the Gowind® range and demonstrate the operational value of the vessels and their cutting-edge technologies. DCNS will also exhibit at Africa Aerospace & Defence (AAD) 2012 in South Africa from 19 to 23 September.

Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet Task Force led by Udaloy Class Destroyer Pays Visit to Japan
 
A Russian Navy group has visited Japan’s naval base Maizuru and is on its way to the home port of Vladivostok, a Pacific Fleet spokesman said on Saturday. The destroyer Admiral Panteleyev, the tanker Boris Butoma and the salvage tug Fotiy Krylov from the Pacific Fleet completed a four-day visit after taking part in the international RIMPAC naval exercise in the United States’ Pearl Harbor.
