CMN
in 2013 confirms its commitment to providing innovative concepts by
introducing
new designs demonstrating the performance of its ships. At Euromaritime,
the “Marine Business Show” currently being held in Paris,
French shipbuilder CMN introduces a new multipurpose Platform supply
vessel (PSV) concept: the MRV 80 or MultiRole Vessel 80.

The MRV
80 is designed to meet the needs of Navies, Coast Guards and offshore
services companies worldwide wishing to procure an enduring yet economical
ship. The MRV 80 provides significant capabilities for intervention
and support by combining a large storage platform, a landing platform
and a high level of offshore support equipment.
The MRV 80 is a compact multipurpose ship that can ensure offshore assistance
missions (thanks to its high towing and pushing capacity, firefighting
with water cannons and foam…) as well as support missions (The
MRV80 is designed with a large surface at the stern for storing containers).
Thanks to its two heavy lift cranes, the MRV 80 may autonomously handle
containers and other large equipment.
With
a length of 80 meters and a beam of 17 meters the MRV 80 can be equipped
with different engine, dynamic positioning and stabilization configurations
depending on customer needs. The main bridge offers a panoramic 360°
visibility.
Modularity has been studied so that MRV 80 can accommodate either modular
living quarters or a field hospital. The versatile rear platform allows
stowage of heavy machinery typically used in humanitarian assistance
missions.
MRV 80
can be used in maritime oil spill response missions with large dispersant
storage capacity or may accommodate compact containerized means with
two lateral recovery systems and towed tanks.
MRV 80 is equipped with a workshop for technical assistance to other
vessels or offshore platforms. Large living space can accommodate teams
of scientists or teams of engineers or refugees.
CMN Engineers focused on the optimization of each function of the vessel
to combine ease of use and reduced operating costs.
MRV 80 is a state of the art multipurpose offshore vessel that meets
the needs of Navies, Coast Guards and offshore services companies wishing
to have an enduring ocean-going vessel with significant response capabilities
