French company DCI wins EDA Naval Training Support Study contract

DCI, in consortium with SCS - a British company specialised in defence and security counselling - has just won the “Naval Training Support Study” (NTSS) call for bids which had been launched by the European Defence Agency (EDA). This contract is about conducting a study on the training fields regarding navigation, mine warfare and diving.

The NTSS project is part of the “Pooling & Sharing” process put into place by the European Union. It is aiming at sharing and pooling military capacities of the member states in order to reduce costs and optimise the efficiency of European Defence capabilities. This means: harmonising the military needs, working in close cooperation for research, training courses and exercises, and sharing the same procedures and command structures.

This one-year project’s objective is to conduct a study for each concerned field and to:

provide landscape of existing capabilities;
propose possible common requirements;
derive shortfalls based on the gap analysis;
and propose recommendations to solve them

“DCI is proud to work jointly with the European Defence Agency on this study” announced Admiral Bruno NIELLY, Executive Vice-President of DCI-NAVFCO. “Thanks to this project, we are able to prove once again that we are experts in the naval training field. We can also be part of the search for synergies which are strengthening the European Security and Defence Policy.”
