The
Russian-made 7th Project 03160 patrol boat has competed state trials
and has been accepted for operation, the Pella Shipyard’s press
office said on Friday. The Russian shipyard Open Joint Stock Company
"Pella" is based in Leningrad. According to the press office,
the new boat has already arrived at its permanent base and will join
Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in the imminent future.
Project 03160 Raptor of the Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet
The
Project 03160 patrol boat is designed to carry out patrol missions in
coastal waters, conduct search and rescue operations, intercept low-tonnage
vessels and defend ports and bases from surface and aerial targets.
The Project 03160 patrol boat is armed with the Uprava-Kord remote-controlled
combat module, a large-caliber machine gun and two Pecheneg machine
guns.
The boat’s deck house and personnel room have Class 5 armor protection.
The Project 03160 patrol boat has a displacement of 23 tons, a length
of 16.9 meters, a maximum speed of 50 knots and endurance of 300 miles.
Its crew totals two-three with 20-strong special personnel.
