North Korean Navy Unveiled A New Type of Anti-Ship Missile With Live Test Firing
 
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the state news agency of North Korea, released a series of pictures showing the Korean People's Army (KPA) Navy test launching a new type of anti-ship missiles from a Surface Effect Ship (SES). The new indigeneously developped missile shares a close ressemblance with the Russian made Kh-35 (Uran or SS-N-25 Switchblade). It is the first time the missile and the SES are officialy revealed by North Korean media.

Chinese Shipyard CSSC launched the second Algerian Navy C28A Corvette
 
Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding, a wholly owned subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC, the largest shipbuilding group in China) launched the second C82A Corvette on order for the Algerian Navy on February 6 2015. Algeria signed a contract with China Shipbuilding Trading Co (CSTC) for construction of three C82A corvettes in March 2012. The first corvette was launched at the same shipyard located near Shanghai in August last year.

The U.S. Department of Defense announced that Lockheed Martin is being awarded a $35,6 million delivery order to complete a Joint Strike Missile (JSM, the air launched variant of the NSM - Naval Strike Missile) risk reduction and integration study on the F-35 Air System for the Government of Norway.

GD NASSCO Christened the 1st Afloat Forward Staging Base variant MLP USNS Lewis B. Puller
 
General Dynamics NASSCO, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), on Saturday christened the U.S. Navy’s newest ship, the USNS Lewis B. Puller (MLP-3 AFSB). The ship is named in honor of the late U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant General Lewis “Chesty” Puller, the most decorated Marine and the only one to be awarded five Navy Crosses.

Having arrived in the Middle East just weeks ago, HMS Dauntless has already made a positive contribution to the region, conducting maritime security patrols as part of the 30-nation Combined Maritime Forces.

The Tomahawk Block IV flight test demonstrated guidance capability when the missile in flight altered its course toward the moving target after receiving position updates from surveillance aircraft.

Navantia Delivers The Second Group of Four LCM-1E Landing Crafts to Royal Australian Navy
 
The second group of four LLC (LHD Landing Crafts) for the Royal Australian Navy has arrived Sydney on 5th. February. The landing crafts departed from Navantia Bay of Cádiz last 27th. December and have arrived to the HMAS Waterhen base, where will be commissioned to DMO (Defence Materiel Organization).

U.S. Navy Hawkeye Crew Evaluated USAF's E-8C JSTARS for Future Maritime Missions
 
The E-8C Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System, also known as JSTARS, flown by the 116th and 461st Air Control Wings, recently participated in naval exercises to enhance joint service training in a contested environment. The U.S. Navy’s Composite Training Unit Exercise tested crews’ ability to respond to a variety of threats for which the E-8C Joint STARS long range radar capability provided land and sea radar information to the Carrier Strike Group 4 based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

In addition to HFDR, the new high-frequency virtual channel exploitation software expands the DMR’s communications capacity to16 virtual channels when operating in the high frequency (HF) line-of-sight and ultra-high frequency (UHF) satellite communications frequencies.

In a rare occurrence, Chinese newspaper Changzhou Evening News published a story about "Jiangsu Shangshang Cable Group winning the contract for China’s second aircraft carrier" over the weekend. China's second aircraft carrier (often dubbed Type 001A) is reportedly currently under construction at the Dalian naval shipyard in Northeast China.

On January 22, 2015, six US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) divers participated in an exchange of know-how with the crew of the French Navy (Marine Nationale) anti-aircraft frigate Jean Bart. For the past 3 months Jean Bart is deployed with aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson in the Carrier Strike Group One for escort mission. In order to share their know-how and to strengthen interoperability, 6 US clearance divers were airlifted to the Jean Bart for an "EOD day".
