Two Project 21631 Buyan-M Corvettes to Join Russian Navy Following Acceptance Trials - TASS
 
Two Project 21631 Corvettes (Russian type classification small missile ships), the Zelyony Dol and the Serpukhov. According to the Russian Navy, both vessels designed by the JSC "Zelenodolsk design bureau" and built by the Gorky shipyard of Zelenodolsk in Tatarstan, will complete in November the acceptance trials and go into service with the Russian Navy.

Corsican Lion Amphibious Exercise: A New Step for British and French Military Cooperation
 
A dozen helicopters and 250 Royal Marines helped evacuate people from a ‘war-torn’ Mediterranean island – a major test of the British and French military to work side-by-side. For the past week, more than 2,000 British and French sailors, soldiers, airmen and marines have been engaged on Exercise Corsican Lion, played out on and off the north and south coasts of the island.

DCNS Will Deliver the Two Former Russia Bound Mistral Class LHD to the Egyptian Navy
 
On October 10, DCNS signed with the Ministry of Defense of the Arab Republic of Egypt a contract for the supply of two Mistral class LHD (amphibious Projection and Command vessels). DCNS is currently building four Gowind® 2500 corvettes and deliered a FREMM frigate to Egypt in July. The latest agreement reinforces the strategic relationships initiated by the DCNS since 2014, with the Egyptian Navy. By 2020, the Egyptian Navy will implement a fleet of at least seven warships designed and built by DCNS.

F-35C Lightning II Deployed On Board USS Eisenhower for Second Phase of Developmental Test

Two F-35C Lightning II carrier variants conducted their first arrested landings aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) off the coast of the eastern United States on Oct. 2. U.S. Navy test pilots Cmdr. Tony "Brick" Wilson and LT Chris "TJ" Karapostoles landed F-35C test aircraft CF-03 and CF-05, respectively, aboard USS Eisenhower's flight deck. The arrested landing is part of the F-35's two week at-sea Developmental Testing (DT-II) phase.

The CG Phased Modernization Program is designed to balance the Navy's long-term requirement for a carrier strike group air defense commander (ADC) platform and its future shipbuilding requirements.

This conference embodies the result of two years of investigation and joint tests. The French Navy announced a similar campaign will be conducted with V-22 on board nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle.

The innovative system has already been tested in trials in the UK and will be used in part towards securing war ships in perilous locations.
