"The
annual Offshore Patrol Vessels Conference organized by IQPC has become
an important reference world forum concerning the growing use of these
naval assets, when senior representatives from different Navies can
present and discuss the solutions they have found to reconcile technical
issues with operational tasks and budget constraints so as to better
accomplish their missions. The multidisciplinary presentations are also
an excellent opportunity to get knowledge on new designs and developments
from the naval shipbuilding industries, including the platform, its
sensors and weapon systems."
- Rear Admiral Francisco Deiana, Director of Naval Engineering, Brazilian
Navy
The flagship Offshore Patrol Vessels conference is held each year by
Defence IQ, with an international speaker faculty of the utmost highest
calibre, featuring senior-level representatives from navies and coast
guards around the world.
This year’s meeting features the most international speaker faculty
to date for the event, from Netherlands, Nigeria, Mexico, South Africa,
India, Ireland, Finland, Italy, Spain and Portugal among others, and
integrates a new focus on emerging markets, such as Latin America, Africa
and the Middle East.
On top of the event’s traditional focus on OPV platforms, the
agenda also looks at Maritime C4ISR and Maritime Domain Awareness, and
features a new Shipbuilders Round Table Discussion consisting of major
shipbuilders from emerging markets including South Korea, India and
Columbia amongst others, allowing conference delegates to learn how
to break into the new, markets outside of Europe and discuss Joint Venture
opportunities.
It
has also just been confirmed with the Royal Netherlands Navy that there
will be an exclusive tour of the Holland Class OPV, available to all
attendees of the Offshore Patrol Vessels conference, on 26th September
2012.
