Rendez-vous in Langkawi: Visit the French pavillon at LIMA 2015 from 17th to 21st March 2015

As a privileged partner in Southeast Asia in the field of defence, Malaysia has maintained industrial cooperation with France over the last ten years, with both major industrial groups and small and medium-sized businesses. The acquisition of submarines, helicopters, transport aircraft, equipment and high technology is consistent with this idea of long-term collaboration, where French businesses play a key role.

Drawing on this favourable economic context, a large number of French industrialists in the defence sector will be attending LIMA. France’s offer is highly representative when compared to the 15 other international pavilions present this year. 22 French companies are taking part in the exhibition, and fourteen of these will be presenting their know-how under the French pavilion federated by the GICAN (French Marine Industry Group).

The 13th edition of LIMA the international maritime and aerospace exhibition, taking place in Langkawi from the 17th to 21st of March 2015, will be presenting a large industrial offer from France.

It is the ideal opportunity for promoting their expertise to army and industry representatives from Asia-Pacific, and notably to the 333 delegations from the 38 countries who are expected to attend.

The importance of France’s high-level political and military representation is reinforced by static and dynamic presentations of major equipment from the air force, including Rafale, the multirole combat aircraft, Flacon 200 Gardian, the maritime surveillance aircraft and possibly an A400M, four units of which have been purchased by Malaysia.

All this suggests that the Minister of Defence Mr Jean-Yves LE DRIAN is likely to visit the LIMA exhibition, as well as a number of high-level delegations.
