French Interceptor Craft Specialist Couach Exhibiting for the First Time in Middle East
 
With over 200 patrol boats and interceptors delivered over the last 40 years, Couach Palscoa is now recognized as a reference shipbuilder for interceptor craft. The French company choose NAVDEX 2017 to exhibit for the very first time in the Middle East region. Couach is showcasing their latest interceptor: the Plascoa 1650 Fast Interceptor Craft (FIC).

Based on the 1300 FIC selected by the Indian Navy, the 1650 FIC is designed for interception, fast patrol and rescue missions.

Powered by two 1600hp engines, the 1650 FIC is capable of a maximum speed of 60 knots. Its range is over 220 nautical miles at 30 knots. It has accommodations for a crew of four plus four passengers. It was specifically design for warmer environments (able to operate in sea water temperatur up to 30°c).

The deck is reinforced on the fore deck to install a 12.7mm gun mount or remote weapon station. Two 7.62mm gun mounts may be fitted at the back of the wheelhouse.
