The United States Navy (USN), commonly referred as the US Navy, is the maritime force of the USmilitary.

The US Navy has seven fleets:
- The 2nd Fleet, based in Norfolk is responsible for the North West Atlantic.
- The 3rd Fleet, based in Point Loma, responsible for the East Pacific.
- The 4th Fleet, based in Jacksonville, responsible for the Caribbean, and Atlantic and Pacific Oceans around Central and South America.
- The 5th Fleet, based in Barhain is responsible for the Persian Gulf, Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and coast off East Africa.
- The 6th Fleet, based in Gaeta, responsible for the East Atlantic and Mediteranean.
- The 7th Fleet, based in Yokosuka, responsible for the West Pacific.
- The 10th Fleet, in charge of cyber warfare based in Fort Meade.

The US Navy is the most powerfull navy in the world with over 200 combat vessels including 11 nuclear aircraft carriers and over 70 nuclear powered submarines.
It is composed of approximately 330,000 sailors.
