NAVDEX 2017: MBDA awarded additional Marte anti-ship missile contract by UAE
 
Marte MK2 N Firing MBDA has been awarded a contract by the UAE Navy to supply additional Marte MK2/N anti-ship missiles.This is a follow on to the contract signed in February 2009 for the supply of Marte missiles. Each high speed multi-role combat vessel will be equipped with four box launchers for MBDA Marte Mk 2/N guided missiles, able to strike targets at ranges in excess of 30 km, flying a fire-and-forget sea-skimming profile using mid-course inertial guidance and active radar homing.

Raytheon RAM Block II UAE Navy IDEX NAVDEX 2017 news picture For the first time ever, at IDEX 2017 Rheinmetall is showcasing its Sea Snake-27, a versatile 27mm revolver gun designed specifically for maritime applications. The Sea Snake-27 is based on the tried-and-tested MLG-27NG light naval gun, which is also on display at IDEX. A gas-operated design, this automatic revolver cannon fires 27mm x 145 ammunition.
 

UAE Navy Procures Raytheon RAM Block 2 Missile to Enhance Baynunah-class Corvette Protection
 
RAM small Raytheon announced on Day 1 of IDEX / NAVDEX 2017 that the United Arab Emirates Navy awarded Raytheon a multi-million direct commercial sale for an undisclosed amount of Rolling Airframe Missiles (RAMs) Block 2, associated equipment, training and support.
