Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine), the marine arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering), today held the Interim Delivery and Acceptance ceremony for the second Patrol Vessel (PV), RNOV Shinas, together with the Naming Ceremony for the third PV RNOV Sadh built for the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO). The Guest-of-Honour was the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, Rear Admiral (RADM) Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah al-Raisi (TBARNO).

U.S. Navy Awards Orbital ATK 4th & 5th AARGM Anti-Radiation Missile Production Lot
 
Orbital ATK, a global leader in aerospace and defense technologies, announced today that it has been awarded a $119 million contract by the U.S. Navy for the fourth full-rate production lot of the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) and a fifth lot for up to $141 million. The contract covers All-Up Round missiles and captive air training missiles for the U.S. Navy and Italian Air Force as well as the second Foreign Military Sales order for the Royal Australian Air Force. The contract award reinforces the customers need for AARGM’s critical mission capabilities.

Indra will supply TKMS new satellite communications systems for U212 submarines
 
Indra will supply ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS), one of the world's leading shipbuilders, new satellite communications systems for submarines. The company has already completed the design of systems to be installed in the submarines built in Germany. These are KU band systems based on a three-axis stabilized platform, already developed by Indra for previous export contracts with this manufacturer.

Working as a Maritime Security Operative (MSO) is therefore a difficult profession that carries with it a high likelihood of injury. However, this injury can be prevented with proper planning and preparation, which may call for body armor.

Russian Navy Third Project 11356 Frigate Admiral Makarov Launched by Yantar shipyard
 
The Yantar shipyard in Russia’s Baltic exclave of Kaliningrad last week floated out the second in a series of six Project 11356 frigates being built for the Black Sea Fleet, the company said. "The Project 11356 Admiral Makarov escort ship is the third in the family of six frigates being constructed by the Kaliningrad shipbuilders for the Russian Navy", Mikhailov, the company’s press officer told Russian news agency TASS.
