In the framework of the Franco-British cooperation, a delegation of British officers was received on board the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle currently deployed in the eastern Mediterranean to participate in Operation Chammal. The British officers are responsible for the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier program. According to the French Navy (Marine Nationale), the goal of their visit was to observe the use of a carrier strike group in real conditions in order to enrich their analytical work.

U.S. Navy Awards BAE Systems $192 Million Contract for Work on New DDG 1000 Ships
 
The U.S. Navy's newest and most technologically advanced warship, USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) was commissioned into active service Saturday, Oct. 15, at North Locust Point in Baltimore. Zumwalt, the lead ship of a class of next-generation multi-mission destroyers, features a state-of-the-art electric propulsion system, wave-piercing tumblehome hull, stealth design, and the latest warfighting technology and weaponry available. BAE Systems has received an indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity contract from the U.S. Navy for post-construction work aboard the guided missile destroyers USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000) and USS Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001). The contract has an initial award of $10.3 million and a maximum value of $192.7 million for work through September 2021.

Leonardo-Finmeccanica announced today the first AgustaWestland AW101 Merlin Mk4 successfully completed its maiden flight on 24th October 2016 at its Yeovil facility in southwest England. Leonardo is upgrading 25 Royal Navy Merlin Mk3/3A aircraft to Merlin Mk4/4A standard as part of the Merlin Life Sustainment Programme (MLSP) contract. The MLSP contract is valued at £330 million and was awarded in January 2014 by the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). Deliveries of aircraft will start in 2017 and continue through to 2020 with the work being performed at Leonardo’s Yeovil facility.

The Project 22350 lead frigate Admiral Gorshkov is planned to be delivered to Russia’s Navy in November 2016, Chief of the Russian Armed Forces’ Armament Department Lieutenant-General Anatoly Gulyayev said on the single military hardware acceptance day.
The Russian-built Project 29380 (NATO reporting name: Steregushchy-class) and Project 20385 corvettes and Project 22350 (Gorshkov-class) frigates will receive radar absorbing coating as part of their upgrade, says the press office of defense contractor Ruselectronics (a subsidiary of Rostec).
