MARSS, with the support of the European Commission and in conjunction with the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), has developed the Marss NiDAR security system to provide local area surveillance and protection to vessels against asymmetric attack.

SAS 2016: Crowley to provide technical management of USCG cutter Polar Sea
 
Crowley's government ship management group was awarded a contract for the technical management of USCG cutter Polar Sea (WAGB 11) - one of the world's most powerful, conventionally propelled icebreakers - during the ship's layup. Though the Polar Sea has been out of service since 2010, Crowley is handling any towing, dry docking, repair, deactivation and layup duties required for the vessel.

This will be Carter’s first time speaking at Sea-Air-Space and the first time in six years that the incumbent secretary of Defense has spoken at the conference.

Jaenichen will participate in the “Service Chiefs’ Update” panel discussion at Sea-Air-Space: The Navy League’s Global Maritime Exposition. Sea-Air-Space will take place May 16-18 at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, Md. Also invited to participate is Gen. Robert B. Neller, commandant of the Marine Corps. The “Service Chiefs’ Update” is exclusive to Sea-Air-Space and the only place each year where the four heads of the U.S. sea services appear together to discuss issues of import to their respective services and the nation.
